Small Business Saturday, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting small and locally-owned businesses + the impact they have in our communities, is on Saturday, Nov. 30.
The day falls between two of the biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and has become an annual shopping tradition for many since its establishment by American Express in 2010.
If you’re looking to join in on the festivities this year (or really, shop local year-round), try these small businesses recommended by SACtoday followers:
- Flora & Fauna Provisions | This downtown breakfast + lunch spot has quickly made its mark in Sac’s farm-to-form scene.
- Balance Me Out | Find this mobile coffee trailer on K Street in Midtown on Saturdays and come Jan. 11, 2025, in its new shop on 24th Street.
- Audacious | This plus size boutique specializes in sizes 10 and up.
- Mi Tiendita Munaycha | @letyandpan said she loves the cookies at this Peruvian handicrafts + food shop and added, “My baby is so entertained with their little flute/whistle.”
- Patris Studio and Gallery | Stop by this Oak Park art gallery on Small Business Saturday, and while you’re there, check out other small businesses in the area.
- Power Pack Fitness | According to @kaylalia, this is the “best gym ever.”
- Strapping Store | This gift shop in Oak Park and Midtown says Small Business Saturday is the day when “our community gives us the biggest hug.”

Reminder: Shopping + supporting small isn’t limited to just this day — we love letting our local businesses shine all year long in our collection of City Guides.
