All the lovely colors of fall can be seen in Apple Hill.

Fall is almost here, and with that comes pumpkin spice lattes, football, school photos, and the expected pilgrimage of Sacramentans to Apple Hill — our region’s hub for all things autumn.

Today, we’re planning out a whole day’s worth of eats + activities in Apple Hill, so all you’ll have to do is sit back, relax, nibble on some pie, and sip on some cider.

Treat yo’self to a black + tan sundae.

🍩 Morning

Head to Boa Vista Orchards to grab one of its apple donuts to start off your morning — and don’t forget to snag yourself a pumpkin to paint or carve before you leave.

🥩 Afternoon

Pop on by Apple Ridge Farms to enjoy the early afternoon with a walk along the Butterfly Trail, and munch on a tri-tip sandwich or chicken pot pie in a bread bowl for lunch. After you finish, the kids can get lost in a maze or “mine” gemstones — just don’t forget to pick up a pie on your way out.

🍺 Evening

End the day at the Blue Barn Provisions to indulge in dishes like Brussels sprout hash or beef brisket. When you’re done, stop by Fudge Factory Farm to pick up dessert, then head to Jack Russell Brewery to cap off the night with a flight of beer or cider (responsibly) at its family-and-dog-friendly farm brewery.
