World Atlas has named the American and Sacramento rivers as two of California’s best riverswhich we could have told them years ago.

The geography website noted the American River’s “awe-inspiring waterfalls” as part of what makes it a great destination for outdoorsy types. It also made special mention of the Sacramento River as California’s largest freshwater resource.

But wait, there’s more. The San Joaquin River, which creates a delta with the Sacramento River roughly 50 miles south of the city before spilling into the Suisun Bay near Concord, also took a spot on the list.
