School’s nearly out for summer. That means it’s time to start making plans to keep those youngins busy with engaging activities + outdoor fun — here are four regional summer camps in the River City that are sure to keep any summertime blues at bay.

🇪🇸 Cultural

Arte en las Américas | 1101 R St. | | $1,150

Art is a universal language, and in this twelve-day camp from July 11-28except Fridays — kids ages 5-10 will be exposed to the Spanish-speaking world through science, music + dance. They’ll also partake in Spanish conversation, and will learn how to read and write.

🌳 Outdoors

Tree Top Sac Camp | 1300 Lake Washington Blvd. | $190

Held Mon.-Wed. starting June 20, this camp lets kids ages 8-15 clamber high into the trees of the beautiful Heritage Oaks Park. With proper safety + harness instruction, they’ll learn to climb ropes, participate in team building activities, and experience the thrill of zip lining.

🧪 Science

Mad Science of Sacramento Valley | Locations vary | $175

Expose your young scientists — from first through sixth grades — to STEAM learning in five half-day classes Mon.-Fri. starting June 6. In the Mad Science Lab, they’ll experiment with green glowing liquids, messages written in code, and autonomous robots.

Sports

PGA Junior Golf Camp | Locations vary | Prices vary $175

Tee time, anyone? Get your kids and teens ages 5-17 into the game of golf with either half or full-day camps Mon.-Thurs. starting June 6 at two golf courses around Sacramento: William Land + Bing Maloney. Led by certified PGA professionals, young golfers will learn the fundamentals of the game + course etiquette.
