Yesterday, the Downtown Sacramento Partnership held its 23rd State of Downtown at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. This annual breakfast is held to “celebrate Sacramento’s resiliency + preview new initiatives driving a brighter future for the heart of our region.”

- Downtown Sac saw 25 new retail businesses open in 2021, with 18 other retailers on the way.
- Two new hotels added an additional 270 rooms to downtown — The Hyatt Centric at 1122 7th St. + The Exchange at 1006 4th St.
Civic
- The Great Plates program provided $11.7 million in economic support by paying Sacramento restaurants, local farms + delivery drivers to send 500,000 free restaurant-cooked meals to seniors.
- 2021 brought the opportunity for Al Fresco dining + the easing of ABC restrictions on to-go beverages in Sac.
- Mayor Steinberg claimed that Sacramento is recovering faster than the state itself from pandemic setbacks.
Tourism
- Old Sacramento saw a ~60% increase in visitors in 2021 when compared to 2020.

- Celebrated 5 years of operation last year.
