Sacramento Kings named NBA Team of the Year

The Beam Team really is the dream team this year — but we knew it was just a matter of time.

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, the Sacramento Kings were recognized with two monumental titles — the NBA Team of the Year + the NBA Innovation Award.

During the 2022-23 season, the Beam Team broke their 17-year playoff drought + secured a home-court advantage for the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

The season included even more key feats for the Kings, like:

  • More than a 200% increase in game viewership
  • Ranked No. 1 in fan in-game experience across the league
  • Ranked No. 2 in ticket revenue growth for NBA teams
  • Most-watched first-round playoff game in 24 years
  • ABC’s largest television audience for a non-NBA Finals game — ever

The NBA Innovation Award was largely won over by our iconic victory Beam, which garnered international attention.
Fun fact, The Beam is actually listed on Google Maps as a “Place of Worship” — as it should be.
