After a two-year hiatus, the Sacramento County Fair is ready for pick-up at Cal Expo today. Through Mon., May 30, families can enjoy rides, live performances, and even a meet + greet with Peppa Pig.

There’s one thing we know everyone is looking forward to though — the food. With 15+ food vendors at this year’s fair, we’ve prepared five that we think your stomach will thank us for.

Dole Whip 🍦

Da what? You won’t have to drive hours to Disneyland to enjoy this classic frozen treat — the pineapple-flavored dessert will be available for fairgoers right outside of the Shoppers Expo at Building D.

Noel’s Mexican Food 🌮

Is it really California if Mexican food isn’t available? Just across from the Dole Whip stand, Noel’s offers staples like tacos + nachos alongside elotes, michelaguas, and their Flamin’ Hot Cheeto Corn.

Jeanne’s Artichokes Etc. 🥬

If all the sweet + savory fair foods are aching your tummy, head over to Jeanne’s booth next to the Main Stage and balance it out with some veggies, like steamed artichokeswhich you can still obviously get fried if you so choose.

PHD & Me 🥨

Don’t get it twisted. These pretzels — located next to the pony rides — are made with a recipe that dates back four generations to Coney Island, and include flavor options like cinnamon + sugar, pizza, and almond toffee. A variety of dipping sauces, like caramel, pesto, and of course cheese, are available as well.

Funnel Cake Express 🍽️

It’s freaking funnel cake. Is there really anything else that needs to be said?
