3 cozy cocktails in Sacramento

The end of Dry January + a cold front moving in means now is the perfect time for a crafted cocktail to warm you up.

A bartender stands behind the bar of The Snug, surrounded by red string lights and backed by a wall of alcohol and liqueurs.

The Snug rotates seasonal drink menus but always offers made-to-order drinks, too.

It’s official: Dry January is out and Fluid February is in — okay maybe not, we just made that up.

Regardless, it’s chilly out so we’re sharing some of our favorite cozy corners in town to snag a cocktail + stave off those wintertime worries.

The Snug | 1800 15th St.
Tucked behind Mas Taco Bar, this hole-in-the-wall is tough to spot from street view. Try the Irish coffee — hot coffee with Irish whiskey and cream.

The Butterscotch Den | 3406 Broadway
Stop by on Tuesdays for live jazz, or every second Friday for soul music and classics. The Den Old Fashioned may be iced, but the whiskey + butterscotch bitters will warm you right up.

The Green Room | 3839 J St.
This spot features exposed brick, cushioned seating, and plants galore. A steaming cup of the Spiced Plum Rum Cider — hot cider with rum and brandy — is exactly what the weather calls for.
