Time to get those creative juices flowing, Sac. National Creativity Day is May 30, and we thought we’d do our best to be your muse. We’re dropping new + imaginative ways to get you out of the house to explore some of the most unique activities that the River City has to offer.

From trying your hands at different art formslike a pizza-making class, paint-and-sip, or hip-hop dance lessons — to go-karting + floating sky-high in a flight chamber, you bet there’s some serious out-of-the-box fun to be had.

🎨 Bring out your inner artist

  • Picasso’s got nothing on you. Bring out your best painting skills — with a little help from a glass of pinot noir — at The Painted Cork.
  • Rustle up your appetite for this one. Grab a partner and craft the perfect za at a pizza-making class at Napoli Culinary Academy, then eat your own creation.
  • Step up to the challenge. Get your groove on + learn some sweet moves at a hip-hop dance class with SacDanceLab.
  • Meld it like it’s hot. Test your steady hand + craft a gorgeous creation at Sincere Ceramics.

🤿 For adventurous souls

  • Climb your way around this adult jungle gym. Show your strength + put those muscles to work on an insane obstacle course at Quarry Park Adventures in Rocklin.
  • Welcome to Bounce Town. Grab your friends for an untraditional game of dodgeball on trampolines or just a grand old time in the bouncy foam pit at Urban Air Adventure Park.
  • Ever wish you had wings? Feel the wind in your hair + defy gravity when you dive into the flight chamber at iFLY in Roseville.
  • Think quickly — your life depends on it. Pull together a big group for the most fun and test out your escape skills at NEO Escape Rooms in Old Sac.
  • Any bubble bath fans? Skip competing in a basic 5K this summer when you can opt to race through huge, colorful, foam bubbles at the Bubble Run at Cal Expo.
  • Let’s go, speed racer. Test out your drifting skills with go-karts at K1 Speed.
  • Let out your rage in an exhilarating, colorful way. Form a team and take down the enemy with your best paintball skills at Capital Edge Paintball Park.
  • Bring out your inner lumberjack. If you ever thought throwing an ax sounds like more work than fun, you’re so wrong. Stick it to different targets at The Smart Axe.

🍸 Not-your-ordinary dinner + a movie

  • Who needs just dinner when you can have a dinner experience instead? Immerse yourself in a magical performance at Mystique Dining in Folsom.
  • Laughter is truly the best medicine. Come out where the comedy is served with a side of lagers at Sacramento Comedy Spot.
  • Fine wines only, please. Skip the ordinary glass of wine with dinner. Experience true wine + dining with a seven-course meal paired with various bottles of wine or cocktails at Localis.
