The Sat., Oct. 15 event is family- and pet-friendly

The City of Sacramento will host its fourth-annual flood preparedness expo on Sat., Oct. 15 from 10 a.m-2 p.m. Dubbed the Highwater Jamboree, the free event will moor itself at Garcia Bend Park, 7654 Pocket Rd. 🌊

The event is family-and-pet-friendly, with opportunities to interact with flood-fighting equipment and learn how to prepare for storm and flood situations with local professionals.

Some of the flood-fighting equipment you’ll see:

  • Heavy machinery like “The Claw”
  • Police, fire, and rescue vehicles
  • Mobile command centers

Locals can also expect to find food trucks, free giveaways, and the chance to interact with local leaders and community members.
