Take today to celebrate the beautiful city we live in.

Last year, City Council declared September 16 as 916 Day, after first acknowledging the unofficial holiday in 2018. With that comes a few different ways community members can share their pride in being Sacramentans.

🦺 Give back

Led by the Parks and Community Enrichment Commission, the city is attempting to get community members to help beautify the city’s parks. Seven parks are hosting beautification projects residents can volunteer their time toward.

🎉 Get down

What’s a celebration without a party? Head to Esther’s Park for the 916 Day Party to enjoy music, food, games, and more, all for just $20 (tickets purchased day-of will cost $25). The event is 21+ so be sure to hire a sitter if you have kids and plan on attending.

🌲 Go outside

What’s a better way to celebrate our city than to explore it? Spend the day outside meandering your way across one of our city’s many paths and trails — like the American River Parkway or the Lake Natoma Loop.
