What’s that bright purple light over Sacramento?

Bright lights, confused city

The Kings victory light in the night sky of Sacramento.

No, it’s not the Bat-Signal.

You may have seen a bright beam of purple light in the Sacramento skyline recently. Not to worry — it’s not a signal for a big superhero battle, just a way to celebrate the Kings winning.

Residents across the city took to social media on Halloween trying to solve the mystery, with even the National Weather Service, Sac PD, and SMF unsure as to the light’s origin for a period of time.

We’re just hoping we see the beacon of success more frequently around town — and are optimistic about its chances.
