Local legends

Pieces | Pizza by the Slice, 1309 21st St.
Slingin’ slices since ’93, this joint also has vegan options.

Roma’s Pizzeria, 5743 Franklin Blvd.
One bite is all it takes to see why hungry Sacramentans keep coming back to the original Roma’s location after 50 years in business.

Think outside the pizza box

Pizzasaurus Rex, 2322 K St.
In addition to multiple vegan options, the menu includes the tantalizing potato pizza — a white sauce pie of incredible crust topped with potatoes (duh), onions, garlic, parsley, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Ciro’s Pizza Cafe, Multiple locations
For those who can’t get enough of Ciro’s, you can order a DIY Pizza Kit to make their delicious pies in the comfort of your own kitchen.

SAC-style

Pizza Supreme Being, 1425 14th St.
What other pizzeria carries a pie inspired by our own legendary local taco chain, Jimboy’s Tacos?

Rico’s Pizza, 2650 Northgate Blvd.
Give it up for the crust on these bad boys, which somehow hold up a literal mountain of toppings no matter how thin you order them.

Anonimo Pizza, 400 12th St.
We can’t decide which pizza we like more — the truffle pizza or the potato pesto pizza — so we recommend you just order both.

We know, this is just a piece of the pie. If your favorite place to get pizza wasn’t mentioned, let us know so we can show it some love in the future.

My son started third grade yesterday, and I genuinely don’t know how to handle him growing up so quickly — mainly because he won’t stop eating. He especially loves the fried ravioli at Paesanos.
