City leaders are asking Sacramentans to provide their thoughts on “social cannabis consumption,” meaning use out in the open at lounges, cafes, or public events. There are ~12 places in California that currently allow some form of public consumption, including the city of Palm Springs and San Francisco County. (Sacramento City Express)
Transit
Sacramento Regional Transit is testing the first of its new light rail trains. The agency’s goal is to introduce 76 of the locally made trains to replace its current fleet in which some vehicles are 30 years old. (CBS 13)

The accolades don’t stop for the Beam Team — Kings General Manager Monte McNair has been named the NBA Basketball Executive of the Year. McNair has been with the team for the past three seasons. (KCRA 3)
Outdoors
Due to the large amount of snowfall this season, officials with the California State Parks expect multiple campsites in the Tahoe area to be closed until mid-June. According to crews, many of the campgrounds are still covered in up to six inches of snow. (FOX40)

Concerts In the Park — California’s biggest free music festival — is back at Cesar Chavez Plaza beginning today at 5 p.m. to kick off 12 weeks of jams with 50+ performances.
Here’s a little refresher of what to expect:
🎸 Music
Each week until July 28 (except Fourth of July week), 4-5 acts will take the stage from 5-9 p.m., with Latin Grammy Award-nominated Kat Dahlia headlining the opening night. Artists span all genres and include big names like Blue October.
🍻 Drinks
There will be a beer + wine garden, and concertgoers can also head to participating bars after the show ends for CIP Afterparty drink specials.
