Sacramento’s Neighborhood Development Action Team is hiring 18 individuals to serve as community ambassadors.

The aim of the role is to create partnerships between the city and members of linguistically diverse or historically underserved neighborhoods. Through community outreach and engagement, people in this position will help inform the city of how to best serve these neighborhoods.

Community ambassadors will receive a $6,000 stipend for the one-year term, which lasts from January 2024 to February 2025, as well as necessary funds to support community events. Previous ambassadors have used those funds for things like a banquet promoting youth programs and a workshop detailing civic services.

Interested parties can learn more about the role on the city’s website, and applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12.
