Sacramentans can get up to $15,000 for home improvement repairs

Contract work for all repairs will be done by Habitat for Humanity.

Sacramento City Council has approved $500,000+ in grant money for income-eligible Sacramentans in need of urgent home repairs.

The Justice for Neighbors Emergency Home Repair Program will disburse up to $15,000 to homeowners for issues like inadequate roofing, plumbing, and HVAC or electrical systems.

The program — which is not yet open for applications — is being run by a partnership between the Community Development Department and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento . Habitat for Humanity is hoping to work with other nonprofits to provide further assistance as well.
