With temps cooling down, Sacramento’s fall and winter landscaping watering schedule is in effect now through Feb. 28, 2025. Per the Department of Utilities, customers can use their sprinklers once per week, on either Saturday or Sunday. Watering is not allowed during rain or for 48 hours after it rains.

Time for a glow up, Northgate Boulevard. District 3 is awarding $200,000 in grants to fund exterior improvements for 23 storefronts along the commercial corridor — think: new paint, signs, doors, windows + awnings. Local small business awardees include El Trigal Bakeries, Gallery Barber Studio, and La Mini Birria.
Development
Sacramento Regional Transit was awarded $76.8 million in grant funding that will be used to build a new hydrogen fueling station at an existing industrial site in McClellan Park. The money will also go toward upgrading a bus maintenance facility and launching a workforce development program with American River College. (KCRA)

Cookie Butter, anyone? Trader Joe’s has opened a second location in Roseville at 10261 Fairway Dr. — ~4 miles away from its other Roseville store. The 10,000-sqft location staffs 60+ local employees, plus 25 employees who transferred in from neighboring TJ’s stores. (The Sacramento Bee)

Built in 1873, the 130-acre Shakespeare Ranch features 17 residences, a 465-ft private pier, horse stables, rodeo grounds, and stunning views of Lake Tahoe + the Sierra Nevada.
