Lunar New Year is Saturday, Feb. 10, and we’ve got you covered with events around Sacramento celebrating the Year of the Dragon (or Year of the Naga, in some cultures). The dragon, one of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac, symbolizes intelligence, honor, luck, and success.
Lunar New Year Festival | Feb. 10 + 11, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. The Nor Cal Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce is hosting two days of parades, performances, Vietnamese food, and cultural exhibitions.
Lunar New Year Unity Run | Feb. 10, 8 a.m. Red envelopes with special prizes + food are part of the festivities at this run — or walk-ish jog — for the new year.
Vietnamese Lunar New Year Celebration | Feb. 10, 8 p.m. Hard Rock Live presents Vietnamese artists, comedians, and bands for a night of entertainment and live music.
Happy Lunar New Year Yoga | Feb. 10, 10:30-11:45 p.m. Good Vibes Yoga is leading a meditation, sound bath, and yoga flow to enter the Year of the Dragon with the right kind of energy.
Lunar New Year Lion Dance | Feb. 12, 4 p.m. The first 100 guests to attend this performance receive a goodie bag, red envelope, and dragon headband — but everyone can enjoy served refreshments during the show.

A self-serve, tip-free tap room is coming to Roseville this week. At its grand opening on Friday, Feb. 9, Keg and Cork Taproom (973 Pleasant Grove Blvd.) will feature 27 beers and three wines on tap along with extra rooms designated for groups and karaoke. (Sac Bee)

The City of Sacramento is now accepting applications for the city council District 2 seat formerly held by Sean Loloee. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, an American citizen, resident of California, and a registered voter in District 2. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 29, at 4:30 p.m. (FOX40)

Davis’ Third Space Art Collective recently released open hours for every Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., to give artists a chance to work together. Free for collective members, or five dollars for non-members, visitors will have access to a stocked supply pantry with tools, film, paints, and more. (The Aggie)

I Heart Mac & Cheese opens its Midtown location today at 11 a.m. — a restaurant featuring all of your carb-loaded, cheesy faves.
Located at 1631 K St., the menu sports mac bowls, flatbreads, grilled cheeses, and a few dessert options. Vegan meat and cheese options are available, along with the choice to substitute noodles for a healthier, gluten-free base of broccoli and cauliflower.
The first 25 customers to stop by on opening day will receive free macaroni and cheese bowls for a year — if this ends up being one of you, let us know (and feel free to share the wealth).
