It’s official: Dry January is out and Fluid February is in — okaymaybe not, we just made that up.
Regardless, it’s chilly out so we’re sharing some of our favorite cozy corners in town to snag a cocktail + stave off those wintertime worries.
The Snug | 1800 15th St. Tucked behind Mas Taco Bar, this hole-in-the-wall is tough to spot from street view. Try the Irish coffee — hot coffee with Irish whiskey and cream.
The Butterscotch Den | 3406 Broadway Stop by on Tuesdays for live jazz, or every second Friday for soul music and classics. The Den Old Fashioned may be iced, but the whiskey + butterscotch bitters will warm you right up.
The Green Room | 3839 J St. This spot features exposed brick, cushioned seating, and plants galore. A steaming cup of the Spiced Plum Rum Cider — hot cider with rum and brandy — is exactly what the weather calls for.

I woke up at 4 a.m. and found my cat’s back half hanging from the middle of my window blinds...
I guess I just wanted to give major props to all the parents out there. I don’t know how you handle the responsibility of other human beings — this cat is giving me a run for my money. 😅
