As part of Native American Heritage Month, the State Indian Museum (2618 K St.) is bringing back its Native Arts and Crafts Market on Friday Nov. 24 + Saturday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Both days, Native vendors from across California will be selling handcrafted jewelry, clothing, art + more. Food trucks will be parked in front of the museum, selling Indian Tacos, coffee + other treats to fuel shoppers as they peruse.
Beadwork is a significant art form in Native American groups, incorporated into ceremonial regalia and adornments.
During the market, admission to the museum will be free. The State Indian Museum exhibits focus on three major themes of California Indian life — Nature, spirit + family.
From historic photographs to stunning ceremonial regalia, many of the materials used to document indigenous life in Northern California were donated by local Native families.
Grab a bite to eat, get some holiday shopping done, and browse curated + engaging exhibit displays — all in one spot.
