November marks the Sacramento Kings’ 22nd Annual Season of Doing Good, where the team partners with Raley’s to give back to Sacramento.
What’s on the calendar this year?
Dec. 2 — The first 200 fans to bring a new toy (valued at $20+) to the Kings vs. Nuggets game will receive two tickets to a future Kings home game.
Dec. 15 — The Kings host the Kingpin Classic charity bowling tournament, with proceeds benefitting local youth basketball programs.
Dec. 17 — Kings players deliver bags of Raley’s groceries, gift cards + merch to local veterans for their Shop Like a King event.
Dec. 19 — The team will visit select Raley’s locations + surprise shoppers with gift cards.
Last week, we attended the Eat Like a King dinner for 27 local nonprofits + over 200 youth and their families. Kids were able to decorate pumpkins, play interactive games + grab selfies with their favorite Kings players who served them dinner. Catch a glimpse of the event.
We asked “Would you like to see daylight saving time become permanent?” and here’s what some of you said:
Is there a more iconic clock in Sacramento than East Lawn’s?

“No, but I’d like permanent standard time. Changing the clocks for DST is the most disruptive to our overall health. Keeping Standard Time makes the most sense and is less disruptive to our lives.” - Larissa A.
“Yes. I much prefer having some light after work; finishing work as the sun sets is the worst! This year, I’m taking matters into my own hands. I shifted my work schedule forward an hour on Monday so I can effectively stay on DST (and quietly protest our arbitrary system of time).” - Matt W.
“I really don’t care which one is chosen, just pick one and be done with it!!” - Ann F.
