Game on. We love video games, especially when we can get out and play them with other people. That’s why we’re rounding up five arcades around Sacramento where you can try to set a high score.

Coin-Op Game Room, 908 K St., Sacramento

With 40+ arcade games, outdoor activities like giant “Jenga,” a sizable beer selection, and pizza available by the slice or pie, this arcade bar is a great place to spend a Saturday night.

Country Club Lanes, 2600 Watt Ave., Sacramento

In addition to two arcades, this River City institution of more than six decades boasts bowling, laser tag, a full bar + billiards tables.

Jas Laser Tag, 9823 Old Winery Pl., Sacramento

Test your skills with laser tag, bumper cars, or “Beam Buster” — a Mission Impossible-style experience where you have to navigate a room full of lasers.

Zion VR, 12401 Folsom Blvd., Rancho Cordova

Step into the future as you and your friends choose from 15+ virtual reality games to play, like the “Alice In Wonderland” VR escape room.

Round 1 Bowling & Arcade, 1191 Galleria Blvd., Roseville

Situated in the Roseville Galleria, Round 1 offers bowling, billiards, and karaoke in addition to a wide variety of arcade games.

Sacramento Republic FC added to its legacy yesterday, when the club signed 13-year-old Da’vian Kimbrough — making him the youngest professional athlete in American team sports history.

Kimbrough has been a familiar face around the club since 2021, when he joined Republic FC’s Academy at age 11. Facing kids in a higher age division, he scored a team-leading 27 goals in 31 matches — good enough to help the team to a nationwide-best 30-1 record, with 27 straight victories to begin the season. Kimbrough is the sixth Republic FC Academy student that the club has signed since it began in 2015.

The signing makes Kimbrough eligible to play for the Indomitable Club in USL matches — including Saturday’s road game against Birmingham Legion FC. The club’s first home game with Kimbrough is the tenth anniversary celebration at Hughes Stadium.

Are you excited about the signing? Let us know.
