Civic

The Sacramento Fire Department has rolled out a new program aimed at freeing up some of its resources. Tele911 gives on-scene fire crews the ability to connect injured people to doctors through a video chat. This way, doctors can evaluate symptoms quickly and possibly avoid costly ambulance rides. Number

$30 million — that’s roughly the amount of money Capitol Corridor will put toward the creation of a new bus depot at the Sacramento Valley Station. The move comes after the state awarded the rail service operator two grants worth $42 million. (Sac Biz Journal)
