This weekend, we took to the streets of Old Sacramento to enjoy a showing of “Theatre of Lights.”

The performance is a local history lesson — covering subjects such as the Lady Adams building + the raising of the city’s streets — intertwined with a special rendition of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” There are also a few surprise appearances by other popular holiday characters during the 30-minute show, which is done entirely from rooftops along K Street.

Showings run Thursday-Sunday at 6 p.m. + 7:30 p.m., with pre-show performances from local dance troupes and singers, as well as ASL interpretation on-hand.

Having spent time in the Bay Area and San Diego, Jordan has called Sacramento home for more than a dozen years. Jordan joined SACtoday in March 2022 after spending 5 years as a digital producer and edit coordinator for FOX40. When he’s not writing, he can be found spending time with his son playing video games, exploring the outdoors, and rooting for the San Franciosco 49ers.
