The Cosumnes River Preserve installed a RightHear accessibility system along its Wetlands Walk Trail to support visually impaired visitors. The Wrap

The former AMF Land Park Lanes was recently granted landmark designation by the city council. The Freeport Boulevard property, which opened in 1960 and closed in 2024, was Sac’s last bowling alley and an important inter-generational gathering place for Japanese American bowling leagues and LGBTQ+ leagues.

Although the site’s future use is unknown, this designation will prevent the building from being demolished and protect it from significant structural modifications. What are your Land Park Lanes memories? We’d love to hear them.
