Beginning Friday, Jan. 12, Dine Downtown returns to Sacramento for its 19th year. The annual celebration of restaurants offers special multi-course menus for $45 per person until Sunday, Jan. 21.
One dollar of every meal purchased will also go toward the Food Literacy Center, a nonprofit aimed at teaching cooking, nutrition, gardening, and more to children in low-income schools.

Local staple Sam’s Hof Brau will not be reopening after a fire closed the restaurant down in February 2023. The 7,208-sqft space (2500 Watt Ave.) is now listed for lease with almost all of the former restaurant equipment having been removed. (Sac Biz Journal)

Peruse seed catalogs and grab those springtime favorites that are so popular they tend to sell out come the thaw. We’re talking seeds like snap peas, radishes, specialty lettuces, and heirloom tomatoes. You can also get your wishlist going for the spring planting of fall bulbs like hostas, gladiolas, and dahlias.
