Sacramento Kings and local fashion brand Advisry teamed up for the creation of a new merch line. The “City of Trees” collection represents different neighborhoods across the Sacramento area, and was available exclusively to attendees of Wednesday’s game.
Award
Thrasher Magazine has named Sacramento’s Miles Silvas as its Skateboarder of the Year. Silvas has been skating for 20+ years, and is the first skateboarder from Sacramento to be awarded the honor. (CBS 13)
Civic
Sacramento city leaders have converted a third hotel into permanent housing for residents experiencing homelessness. Sacramento Central Studios is a 92-unit housing complex funded by the city’s Mental Health Services Act and California’s Homekey program.
Coming Soon
Roseville officials announced this week that a planned pickleball court at Gibson Park is expected to open in January. The 14-acre space at 201 Gibson Dr. will also boast 10 tennis courts, a 200-space parking lot, basketball courts, and more. (FOX40)
Sports
Four student athletes from Grant Union High School have signed letters of intent to play collegiate sports. Devin Green, Wayshawn Parker, and Kingston Lopa have committed to playing football at UNLV, Washington State, and Oregon respectively — while Samaya Dillard will play women’s basketball at Prairie View A&M. Two Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. locations in the Sacramento area have closed. The Arden Fair (1717 Arden Way) and Downtown (1121 I St.) both displayed signage directing customers to the Sunrise Mall storefront instead. (Sac Biz Journal)
