Pesto on pizza? Yes, please. | Photo by @unclevitos
City Editor Jordan here — I’m a big believer of pizza as the great equalizer. Whether you’re a five-year-old at a birthday party or a C-suite executive finishing a long day at work — pizza probably sounds delicious.
In the Farm-to-Fork Capital, there’s no shortage of pizzerias to choose from. Here’s a list of seven we recommend.
🍕 OneSpeed, 4818 Folsom Blvd. OneSpeed’s Take-Out Tuesday specials give you pizza, salad, and a bottle of wine for just $42, making it a great option for an at-home date night.
🍕 Uncle Vito’s Slice of NY, 1800 15th St., Ste. E Its location across the street from Ace of Spades paired with a late night happy hour makes Uncle Vito’s perfect for a post-concert pit stop —not to mention the restaurant offers what can only be referred to as “Costco-sized” slices.
🍕 Buffalo Pizza and Ice Cream Co., 2030 10th St. Besides traditional pies (and ice cream, as implied by the name), Buffalo also serves up breakfast pizzas — a mouth-watering combo of scrambled eggs and cheese topped with a variety of meats or veggies.
🍕 Masullo Pizza, 2711 Riverside Blvd. Masullo is known for its Neopolitan-style pies that are wood-fired to near-perfection — like the prosciutto-topped Mustapha — along with a small selection of other Italian dishes.

WalletHub ranked Sacramento No. 20 on its list of most diverse US cities. | Photo by @rischyrisch
Recently, we stumbled across a Reddit thread asking Sacramentans who were born outside of the US which local restaurants best represent their home country’s cuisine.
With Sacramento recently ranked No. 20 on the list of most diverse cities in the country — and coming in fifth for a city of its size — we weren’t shocked at how popular the thread was. But we’re wondering if any places were missed.
That’s where you come in. We’d love to put a list together for those settling down in the City of Trees and we want to know:
If you were born outside of the US, which Sacramento restaurant reminds you the most of home? Let us know.
