Whether you’re just a small town girl or a city boy, we’ve all found ourselves livin’ on a prayer when it comes to dreams of being a jukebox hero. However, life goes on long after the thrill of living is done. So, if you and some guys from school had a band and tried real hard (until Jimmy quit + Jodie got married), we’ve got five karaoke spots around Sacramento where you can sing like it was the summer of ‘69.
🎤 Pine Cove Tavern, 502 29th St. With karaoke every night of the week except Monday, there’s always a crowd ready to sing along at this Midtown dive bar.
🎤 Oishii Sushi & Karaoke Lounge, 1000 K St. Rally your squad, munch on some tasty sushi, and then head into your private room — three options are available depending on the size of your group — to sing your heart out.
🎤 River City Saloon, 916 Second St. This Old Town bar is more than a tourist trap — guests can be found on Friday and Saturday nights serenading groups of locals + out-of-town visitors alike.
🎤 Corner Spot Karaoke, 6432 Tupelo Dr. Rent out just one room or the entire space depending on the size of your audience. The available bottle service will give you all the liquid courage you need while the food menu will keep you fueled.
🎤 Powerhouse Pub, 614 Sutter St. This Folsom bar offers live band karaoke — yes, you read that right — every Tuesday night, which seems like expert-level stuff to us.

Good news everyone. After a week that felt like an eternity of triple-digit heat, temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-80s through Saturday, thanks to increasing winds. Sacramento has experienced 44 days of weather over 100° this year. (Sac Bee)
While the weather may be more tolerable, residents with lung + respiratory issues are still advised to remain indoors — or wear N95 masks outside — as smoke from the Mosquito Fire plagues our region. (KCRA 3)

Good morning, SAC — new voice here. My name is Ryan Johnston and I am the CEO of 6AM City, the parent company and publisher of SACtoday. First, thank you for waking up with us every morning and looking to our City Editors, Matt and Jordan, to help you start your day and get excited about everything SAC has to offer.
We launched SACtoday on Jan. 31, 2022 and we couldn’t be more thrilled at how this city has taken to us. We now wake up with 20,160 readers and reach 4,743 people via social media — a big step up from day one.
We built this product based on both reader and advertiser demand. Readers like you were looking for a quick and convenient way to find everything in one place — focused on all things positive and written in a way that is digestible — and (in an effort to keep our product 100% free to readers) we work with advertisers who want to connect with readers like you.
We have a number of different opportunities to advertise directly in this newsletter — find out more by clicking on the link below.
Editor’s pick: I’ve got a hot take for you on this Taco Tuesday — I actually prefer mulitas, especially the ones from Chando’s. It’s the cheesy goodness + being fried up in oil that does it for me.
Missed yesterday’s newsletter? We grilled up even more burger spots for you to much from.
