The Chalk It Up! Festival is back in Sacramento for its 33rd year. From Saturday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 4, visitors can head to Fremont Park (1515 Q St.) for live music, activities, local vendors, and, of course, chalk art.
Here’s what you can expect from this year’s event:
- The festival runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. all three days
- Admission is free for everyone
- Kids can stop by the information booth to snag some chalk + add their own artwork to the park’s sidewalks
- Parents can hit up the beer garden and purchase some locally brewed beverages
- Don’t bother with parking — SacRT is offering free rides via buses and light rail
- If you’re pedaling over, take advantage of the free bike valet
- Make sure to snag a selfie at the Chalk Art Wall (and don’t forget to tag @thesactoday)
