We’re hoping one of the performers remixes “Walk It Out” to “Chalk It Out.”

The Chalk It Up! Festival is back in Sacramento for its 33rd year. From Saturday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 4, visitors can head to Fremont Park (1515 Q St.) for live music, activities, local vendors, and, of course, chalk art.

Here’s what you can expect from this year’s event:

  • The festival runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. all three days
  • Admission is free for everyone
  • Kids can stop by the information booth to snag some chalk + add their own artwork to the park’s sidewalks
  • Parents can hit up the beer garden and purchase some locally brewed beverages
  • Don’t bother with parking — SacRT is offering free rides via buses and light rail
  • If you’re pedaling over, take advantage of the free bike valet
  • Make sure to snag a selfie at the Chalk Art Wall (and don’t forget to tag @thesactoday)
