One of the first places of its kind in California, the Hart Senior Center has been enriching the lives of older adults since 1961. Its name honors Ethel MacLeod Hart, who bequeathed her entire estate to the City of Sacramento for the “use, enjoyment, and comfort of senior citizens” after her death at age 104.

Located in Midtown at 915 27th St., the center offers classes + activities, like “Gentle Vinyasa Yoga, social ping pong events, and line dancing lessons. It also hosts various workshops and groups for poetry, life history writing, book clubs, and art activities. Learn more.
