For a lot of Sacramentans, it’s that time of year where you stick a bunch of lights and decorations on the outside of your house, and start bringing trees and other various shrubbery inside to decorate. (We do it too, but still admit it’s a bit of an odd habit.)
With that in mind, here are five places around Sac where you can pick up your Christmas tree.
🎄 Foothills Christmas Trees | Mon.-Sun. 9 a.m.-8 p.m. | Cal Expo, 1600 Exposition Blvd. | Foothills supplies 10 different tree types, as well as flocking (that fake snow-looking stuff) in white, black, pink, red, and blue.
🎄 Green Acres Nursery and Supply | Mon.-Sat. 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. | 8501 Jackson Rd. | Green Acres offers free trees for disabled veterans and immediate family members of troops who are actively deployed.
🎄 Bambi’s Christmas Tree Land | Mon.-Sun. 10 a.m.-9 p.m. | 210 S. Harding Blvd., Roseville | Bambi’s has tabletop trees as small as three feet, or 100-ft commercial trees.
🎄 Chad’s Christmas Trees | Mon.-Fri. 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Sat.-Sun. 9 a.m.-9 p.m. | Cal Expo, 1600 Exposition Blvd. | For 20 years, this farm has operated at the site of the family’s other venture, Whitey’s Jolly Kone, with an additional location open since 2014.
🎄 O’Halloran’s Apple Trail Ranch | Mon.-Sun. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | 2261 Cable Rd., Camino | Take a nice walk along the nature trail and enjoy a picnic at this Apple Hill farm before snagging a tree to take home.

Mystery solved
What’s up with this bus stop ad?
In Monday’s newsletter, we shared this strangely out-of-date ad. | Photo by SACtoday Staff
Well, the case of the decade-old ad for the film “Abduction” on a SacRT bus stop seems to have been cracked folks — and unfortunately it’s rather anticlimactic.
According to an e-mail we received from Clear Channel Outdoor, the company that handles advertising at SacRT bus stops, the poster for Taylor Lautner’s second-worst movie was exposed following the recent removal of another ad campaign.
To make matters worse? They told us they’d be placing new ad copy by the end of the week, meaning our inquiry effectively killed this joke.
We’re really sorry y’all — we’d prefer to keep the janky aesthetic ourselves.
