Maddy Eccles is a local influencer in Sacramento who recently began filming “Very Local Sacramento,” an upcoming TV show celebrating all the best the City of Trees has to offer.

We asked Maddy 10 questions about life in Sac + her new show. Keep reading to find out her thoughts on the TV production process, as well as what local influencers she’s following.

Q: Describe your perfect day in Sac in the length of a Tweet (280 characters).

A: Fresh flowers from the Midtown FarMar, a local lager, and a fresh farm-to-table meal is my perfect day in Sacramento!

A:

Q: How did your new show, “Very Local Sacramento,” come about?

A: I was approached by a producer because they noticed my love for Sacramento through my social media posts on Instagram and TikTok! Very Local was looking for someone who could show locals and visitors alike things to do around Sacramento.

Q: What’s been the most exciting part of the TV production process?

A: With the show, I was given an opportunity to build a closer relationship with small business owners in Sacramento. I was able to talk with them about their businesses, what they enjoy, what they struggle with, and I was able to gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to be successful running a small business in Sacramento. Everyone was so incredibly welcoming, hardworking and just amazing.

Q: If people take one thing away from your show, what do you hope it is?

A: There is something for everyone to enjoy in Sacramento. Whether you’re a long time local or you are just passing through for the weekend, Sacramento is a great city to enjoy. I want people who have lived here for a long time to fall in love with their city again.

Q: What’s something that every Sacramentan should know about?

A: Sacramento is UNDERRATED! Don’t sleep on Sacramento.

Q: What do you think Sac will be known for in 10 years?

A: In 10 years, Sacramento will be known for the incredible community that built up this city through the hard times, through pandemics and recessions. Sacramento will be known for opportunity and a great, welcoming place to live.
